While we don’t know all the answers, we hope to be a trusted source for you with the goal of enhancing your health span.
Dr. Daneshmand (Aka: Dr. D) has been a practicing physician in San Diego, California as a Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialist. MFM’s or high-risk pregnancy specialists are internal medicine physicians for pregnancy and act as consultants to their ob/gyn, midwife, family practice colleagues.
They are also fetal radiologists performing fetal surveys as early as 12 weeks of one’s pregnancy. While, modern medicine has allowed us to live longer, we are unfortunately not living healthier.
Pregnancy is also a window into our lifetime health. You may be aware that if a woman has preeclampsia in her pregnancy and delivers prematurely, she has a 8x increased risk of dying from cardiovascular complications.
If a mom has gestational diabetes, she has increased risk for the development of diabetes in her lifetime. We can reduce these risks but focusing on the woman and just not on specific organs such as the uterus, etc.
Women as you are aware, are the CEO’s of our community and without their good health, there is degradation of the family life, work unit and our community as a whole.
Pregnancy is the term used to describe the period in which a fetus develops inside a woman’s womb or uterus. Pregnancy usually lasts about 40 weeks, or just over 9 months, as measured from the last menstrual period to delivery. Health care providers refer to three segments of pregnancy, called trimesters.
